And the update for ACR 7.3 feeds up DNG 7.3 (which downloads and installs fine BTW). I was able to download and install Lightroom 4.3 successfully. This has been a persistent problem (I got install errors the last time I updated, and finally gave up in disgust). Clearly there is a problem, as this is an error reported by multiple users. I haven't checked the log for the 13.0.2 update, but the log for the ACR update to 7.3 indicates at the very end that the update is already installed (!).

However, given their location (i.e. Camera Calibration panel) they weren’t particularly easy to find. Camera Matching Profiles were originally created with the intention of matching the different ‘look’s and ‘recipes’ supported by camera vendors such as Canon, Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and Sony. These profiles made it possible for you to match the colour and tonality of the images displayed on the cameras rear LCD screen.
For example, camera profiles created using the X-rite ColorChecker Passport include mild hue/saturation shifts to warm or cool images. While many advanced users and educators have long known about the power of camera profiles, the profiles were hidden deep within the Camera Calibration section. In this update, Adobe have moved the profiles to the top of the Basic panel and through a new ‘Profile Browser’ significantly improved access and usability. Lightroom Classic Develop module – New Profile Browser The new Profile Browser is common to Lightroom Classic CC, Lightroom CC Desktop and ACR, and function nearly * identically in each. The Profile Browser (button to the right of the pull-down) lets you pick a profile via a thumbnail. A nice feature of this being the ability to preview the effect in the main content area by hovering your mouse over the the profile thumbnail.
The camera raw converter functionality in Adobe Photoshop software provides fast and easy access to the raw image formats produced by many leading professional and midrange digital cameras. By working with these 'digital negatives,' you can achieve the results you want with greater artistic control and flexibility while still maintaining the original raw files.
Unfortunately, this feature doesn’t yet extend to Lightroom CC Desktop. Adobe Camera Raw – Profile Management 3rd Party Profiles and Develop Presets Adobe has also worked closely with a number of 3rd party preset makers to help them create new profiles and presets compatible with Lr7.3. These should be available shortly after this Lr/ACR update is released.

We've all been conned!!! There are two major problems with your post. One is that you're trying to do work on a 4GB RAM machine. You're holding back all the rest of the system specs you quoted, by starving them of RAM. You should have at least 8GB RAM to prevent thrashing with any serious photo app, not just Lightroom. The thrashing is probably because the system is forced to use virtual memory because you don't have enough RAM. Second, there IS a perspective distortion tool in Lightroom.

With the addition of a brand new profiles feature and new Adobe Uncooked profiles, now it has the power to serve the photographers in additional environment friendly methods. The Profiles feature permits customers to manage how colours and tonality are rendered within the photographs. The profiles are supposed to function a place to begin or basis for making picture edits. For each uncooked and non-raw pictures, customers can create a singular type or impact of their photograph by selecting any of the artistic profiles grouped below Creative, B&W, Trendy, and Classic. Making use of a profile on the photograph doesn’t change or overwrite the worth of different edit management sliders.
Customers may also connect with the Lightroom team directly on Facebook () or via Twitter (). This is a release candidate of ACR.

• Can be applied on top of a set of existing edits without changing the sliders. Since the slider values don’t change and are not overwritten, you can modify your image as you like and then apply a profile on top of your edited image ( see below B&W example). • Profiles *may* contain a 3D LUT, which can do enhancements not possible with any of the sliders found in the Develop module. • Every image must have a profile and can only have one profile at a time. Changing from Adobe Standard to B&W 01 will mean that B&W 01 is being applied to your image, no longer Adobe Standard.
Yeah surprised Fuji xpro is not better supported too. Sigma support, well i probably agree with you, but i bet it comes down to priority. They probably had more urgant things to work on for the release. I would ask Sigma why they don't support DNG. As far as 'Wasting resources' between the various raw solutions.
For example, if you move the Exposure slider to +1, then apply a preset that contains Exposure=0, your image will have the Exposure slider set to 0. In other words, the +1 exposure adjustment is cancelled out. • Can set a profile. That is, a profile is like any other value in the develop panel, meaning you can set a profile and then store that setting within a preset. Profiles: • Don’t move sliders.
Net access in the office is an assest anyway. I tried the latest Photoshop update (13.0.2) on my Retina MacBook Pro. The HiDPI display is a welcome enhancement. But, from what I've seen so far, the image rendering in ACR 7.3 does not support HiDPI.
Adobe Camera Raw 9.2
Adobe has issued a 'release candidate' version of Lightroom 4.3 and Adobe Camera Raw 7.3, including support for 13 additional cameras. The Mac version of Lightroom features a Develop module that supports Apple's HiDPI mode that makes the interface easier to read on the 'Retina' panels used on recent Macs. The latest versions are available for download from the Adobe Labs website and, as the 'release candidate' tag denotes, are well tested but could benefit from some user feedback before finalized.

The way it renders details, texture and fonts is just fabulous. Colour is an absolutely reliable sRGB, contrast is great, I can't ask for more. Absolutely the right decision to wait for it for months. Martin Datzinger: All that and it's about liking your Mac 'retina' display's colour. Yeah it's good, but it aint close to mine for colour. To me gamut just means number of colours, what I care about would be called contrast and dynamic range. Again in these regards my highend HP's screen is a good bit better than a Mac 'retina'.

Adobe does not issue 'release candidate' versions of Camera Raw for Photoshop Elements. When ACR 7.3 final is released in early December, it will be pushed out to Elements 11 users through the auto updates. Until then, you aren't missing anything. There are no new features, only a few new Cameras supported. Elements 10 users will never get ACR 7. Version 6.7 was the end of the line. Adobe wants users to upgrade Elements every year, so this is how they get them to do it.

This was especially surprising because I run a completely ‘clean’ system with nothing but the most trusted software installed in default locations. I didn’t even run a trial of Photoshop CS6 on this system before purchasing it (outright, by the way; none of that Creative Cloud business here). I have never expressed any interest whatsoever in Photoshop CS6 Extended. I eventually resolved this by reentering my serial number, which thankfully I had on hand. More info here for anyone in the same predicament. My Library was hidden.
It patently is NOT. Everything else works fine on my computer, a Mac Pro running Lion 10.7.5. The current Illustrator CS6 update also failed, as well as Extension Manager. You got problems (not you Brett, your bosses). I'll say only, editorially, as the years have gone by, for me since Photoshop 2.2, these kinds of problems from you folks have proliferated.
I know ther is a wonderfull lens distortion panel in Lightroom, this can not be used to corect an image for architectural perspective, unlike the tools availible in Elements Editor. The PC is running 32bit Vista and so is limited to 4GB of RAM, 8GB is not an optiion, without moving to 64bit OS and this will clobber many other applications that I use, requiring them to be updated, more cost. All the equivalent Clone/Heal tools work just fine in Elements Editor with no lag and for me their implimentation is far superior to those in Lightroom. Have you tried both? The next time you are in the Lens Correction panel, try clicking Manual, look at the Horizontal and Vertical sliders and see if they can't correct keystone perspective corrections (what you refer to as 'architectural' perspective).
Adobe Camera Raw is very easy to install. Simply unzip the archive and copy the file into your CS5 File Formats folder. While using Adobe Camera Raw, you can preview the results of your adjustments in real time in the preview pane, take several snapshots during the editing process and save custom presets for later use. Adobe Camera Raw is a simple and effective plug-in that lets you view and edit RAW images in Adobe Photoshop.
Note #2, me again. Ok, I was kinda upset. I see where I did a “work around.” I had unchecked the box within nikon transfer so that it did not delete the files on the card. Also, the nikon d600 has two card slots. I will ditch “nikon transfer.” If I pull the files off the card and right into PS, it does work. PS version 14.1.2 CS6, the nikon d600 less than one week old. Today is the day after thanksgiving.
The first step to take from for recovery is to admit you have a problem, which Adobe seem steadfastly to refuse to do. I will not re-install CS6 in order to update.

I ended up having not only to deactivate and re-install the whole Suite, but Illustrator and PhotoShop both wanted to be removed manually, as well as all support files, preferences, etc. Before I could install them anew (took three tries of more and more drastic steps). I had already repaired permissions even before trying all this. I even did it in single user mode. But everything is all right now. I assume some files got munged somewhere along the line. It's happened before.

There's a lot of code in there, and there's a lot of support files distributed throughout the system. Happens I guess. I wish it happened to me. Thanks again.
GaryP, Also the colour quality on those new 'retina' Macs isn't as good as other highend laptop screens. HP sold laptop screens under the name Dream Colour, Lenovo had some variation, both more than a year ago. Now the big Samsung gaming laptop have screens with better colour quality than 'retina' displays. Resolution aint everything. Just like cramming more pixels on to a sensor doesn't necessarily make for better colour.
When the RMBP screen is set to 'Best for Retina', Photoshop uses all 2880x1800 pixels. ACR is still scaling images to a 1440x900 grid. The easiest way to see this is to view an image at 100% in ACR, and then at 100% in PS. Objects will draw 2x larger in ACR. I hope they fix this in a future update. I like to do careful capture sharpening in ACR, and then import to PS for more tweaking.
I'm trying to make a living, not be tech support to myself for a company that's failing to engineer its own updates properly. Either way I have more work to do, but at least what is installed at present works. I hope to hear of positive steps I can take to alleviate this problem. Re-install, again, is NOT positive. Thanks in advance for any assistance. It's hard to say what could be preventing you from installing any updates, but they all likely share the same root cause. Lightroom doesn't update the way other applications do.
I can only tell you that I'm absolutely happy with my rMBP's screen colour and that its resolution brought a whole new experience in photo editing. Screens below 200dpi are just not acceptable any longer for me. Oh and I am happy that Adobe, after HiDPi development has been available in Xcode for 17 months or so, is finally supporting it.
Do you have multiple copies of the camera raw plug-in? If not, what is the actual version of the plug-in (you can verify this with Get Info)? Additionally, verify you have read/write permissions to the folder (you may need to check via Terminal to be thorough). Next, we'd want to see the logs for the other updates to see what they say. Might they be returning the same message?
