Documents can be saved in.doc and.docx format which most publishers want, so the program will work just fine for my needs. It may be time to reconsider my loyalties. Making the switch at the end of my subscription would require retraining myself, as there is a learning curve when you get a new program. Also, Office 365 is useful across all three of my electronic devices, which is the main reason I went with it. But I can work out of Google docs when I am on the road, if I must. This fall when my subscription is nearing the end, I will be weighing what my time spent learning how to use a new program is worth against how high my level of frustration with Microsoft’s lack of accountability is. Shane Just wanted to point out that your article is somewhat incorrect/incomplete when stating that you need to check for updates via Apple Software Update. OneNote is available and can be updated via the Mac App Store but Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook have never been available in the Mac App Store. Also note, that if you installed Microsoft Office 2016 then version of OneNote installed with that, along with all of the other Microsoft Office 2016 applications will need to be updated by going to Help>Check For Updates in any of the Microsoft Office applications. Doing this will open the Microsoft AutoUpdate utility to perform the updates. It downloaded and synchronized all e-mail, events, and contacts. However, after closing/restarting the application, “something” continues to overwrite the server URL in the configuration. I wonder if it is reading that older SP1 MSE account and that’s what is overwriting the configuration. I never saw the older MSE account in the import and never configured it “not” as default. Right now, it's essentially an unusable product. This problem also seems to be widespread judging by similar posts in various Microsoft forums. (A couple of days ago, Word was also not signing in properly to Office 365, although I am no longer seeing that problem--not sure if it could be related or not.) The problem has been around for ca. Andrew I’m experiencing a TON of crashes. Outlook seems to crash a lot when I’m sending mails, not so much when opening and rarely/never when receiving. There’s a lot of randomness to the crashes. It’s not certain addresses, or certain sizes, no association to attachments or after sending a certain number or messages or after a certain amount of time. The first release of the beta worked great, it’s gone downhill sense.
Something about the process of relabeling from the generic “Document 1” title that Word names all new documents, to whatever you need it to be, seems to short circuit the program, causing it to shut down. And, the moment the unsaved document vanishes, it is as if it never existed.

I even tried to re-install from zero OS X Yosemite but nothing changed, they keep crashing. I Hoped that with the new update something would have improved, but with no results.

And after this crash i can't open ANY Excel file got error: tried restart PC not helped. Tried Repair - not helped. Tried online repair - NOT HELPED. But i can open blank Excel workbook. Same for me also. Just to jump on the bandwagon, we are having similar Excel crashes, on multiple machines and for multiple users.
This means it is an issue inherent in the program itself, and not a compatibility issue. This is a problem with the software, and it needs to be addressed. So, if you are using Office 365, name that file the minute you open a new document or spreadsheet. Once you have successfully saved your blank document/spreadsheet the first time, you will never completely lose it if Word or Excel crashes again while you are trying to save or are just working as sometimes happen.
I owned a Mac in the mid 1990s, and it was okay, and I’ve held jobs where my machine was a Mac, but I never really been a Mac devotee. I’m a PC person through and through. I need a program with all the features of Microsoft Office 365. All I ask is that it work reliably, the way Office 2010 did. I confess, I’ve been checking into dumping this hinky, already-paid-for program and switching to. I have used earlier versions in various work environments and absolutely loved the the program and what it offered. However, the reason I haven’t gone with it in my home office was cost–it was an extremely expensive program. Switching to Corel products is a real option for me now, as in recent years they have become competitively priced.
I bought Office 16 with the assumption that it would work. Every time it is opened, it will last for about a minute and then crash. I have tried every fix that the internet has to offer so far, and nothing seems to work. After spending hours scouring forums I decided to post the same problem that everyone else had been posting myself, and didn't get any better luck than the other hundreds (or more) people that are experiencing the same problem that I am. Now because the people at the 'Office 365 community' have given up on me and can't find any solution that helps in the slightest, they have directed me here. They told me to copy and paste the detail log of my error message but it makes this message too long, so whoever feels like they might be able to helps, I can email it or do something else with it. They are free to the user and are ideal for some people. Google Docs even saves as you go, which is a really nice function. But while those two products are basically useful for simple projects, they are quite limited and don’t have the range of tools I need for my word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
Hello, I tried to install the Mendeley word extension, and Mendeley says that the installation was successful. However, in Word, I do not see it under 'add-ins' ribbon. I do see that there are multiple add-in versions for Mendeley.

If you haven’t already, you can try by going to Account Settings – Data Files and Compact Files. There are also some third party apps that split PST files but they only work on PC.
