I went to all the software product application websites today that are reviewed above, and was very happy to see that they all now, or will be, supporting the CycleOPs Powerbeam Pro. Download internet explorer 11 for mac. The lone exception, PerfPRO, will be adding support in the near future according to their Facebook page. ANT+ integration has really opened up the Powerbeam platform, and this is good for everyone. As a Garmin user with all ANT+ devices on my bike, using Windows PC’s, Android phones, and two bikes that have different drive trains (Campy and SRAM), my choice got much easier. Add to that the Joule unit I can get with the Powerbeam to control the trainer without using my phone (a plus for me) and the great support I hear about from Cycleops, I’m not sure why I would still pick Wahoo. Can anyone argue with my logic since I don’t need Bluetooth?

The TWG works for a period of time, from alpha to beta and then final release of the specification for that topic. ANT+ Bike Trainer Device Profile: This is the profile that is being created by the ANT+ TWG in conjunction with ANT+ as an organization, which will standardize the way trainers and non-trainers communicate about trainer-related things (control of resistance, reporting of power, etc). Since the profile is still in the pre-release stages, the “profile” that Wahoo is using is technically a private-ANT implementation (that just happens to be open to others using it). Now, the ANT+ Bike Trainer Device Profile will end up looking a heck of a lot like the Wahoo profile, mostly because the Wahoo profile was used as the foundation for what the ANT+ TWG is cooking away on. Sorta like starter dough. Right now though the timeline for the ANT+ Bike Trainer Device Profile is calling for a summer alpha release of the profile, and then a final release around September for Interbike.
Somepartslack Works fine w me for KICKR Seems fine for what it is. Just lets me view speed and power. Has a rocker for some value (indicates speed?) but makes no sense that you can increment speed in that way, so I didnt touch that. My guess is that's power, to change resistance? Otherwise, app is a good rudimentary way to test kickr. I'm not yet on ios 9. By the way, you have to select the kickr to see the stats, touch where it lists the serial number and you will be taken to the details screen.
ERG mode will control the KICKR's resistance and Level Mode will simulate grade and get your KICKR acting closer to a Fluid or Magnetic 'Dumb Trainer.' Note: If using level mode, you can view the power curves for each of the standard resistance levels, consult from Wahoo. Using Power Meters for Cadence If you are using a Stages Power Meter, or another power meter that reports cadence, you can connect your device through the KICKR (Gen 1 KICKR Only).

As I said in my previous post, “I can’t justify an I pad to the wife” This is my first attempt at learning how to use;power and riding on a trainer. It’s going to be nice when the Florida Summer arrives and thunder storms pop up out of no-where on the plus side i have had no problems with my kickr. Larry is spot on.
Awesome work and please don’t stop. I wanted to personally thank you for the time you have put into the Wahoo Kickr review. The review certainly assisted me in determining if I should purchase on of this units – to which I did. The review was complete and thorough (as normal.). I also wanted to give your readers a personal account on some things – all of which have be great.
It's not a perfect match, but much better than before. Can't wait for The Sufferfest to have power match built in though. It will make things simpler and more integrated. Thanks Robert. 23-622 is 2096mm and 25-622 is 2111mm guess you're in between somewhere?
Not by a long shot. The Good: Every conceivable fitness-related measurement — heart rate, bicycle pedal cadence, power output, stride, you name it — has an ANT+ sensor to measure it, and can theoretically be paired with the Key (you can also purchase a variety of ANT+ sensors directly from Wahoo, like the HR strap and bike speed/cadence sensor we tested here). But the Wahoo Key is not only exemplary because how many sensors it’s compatible with — it also shares its collected data with more apps than any other system. The ever-popular, and our favorite cycling app,, are just two of the many apps the Key is compatible with. Heck, even Wahoo’s own is fantastic. It’s well-designed, easy to read, comes with a wide choice of readout pages that can be selectively included and includes everything you need for a wide range of activities.
Uber, if you recall, went through a similar situation. In which users screamed so much that it removed the request to have location services on at all times. This is disgraceful and makes me think that Wahoo maybe selling our information to third parties. Michaelmurphyla App went down the Toilet This had used to be fantastic. However, and recent updates, Wahoo began trying to track our whereabouts when the app is not on by request to ACCESS YOUR LOCATION ALWAYS. I opt to allow Wahoos to track my location ONLY WHEN USING THE APP (as the app needs our location to track runs and so on).

I opt to allow Wahoos to track my location ONLY WHEN USING THE APP (as the app needs our location to track runs and so on). Since I have this option elected, I get a horrible and frustrating reminder every time I use the app, stating, “I am not using the proper location services.” There is no reason why any app should be able to track your location when you’re not using the app.

Finally, the PerfPro software supports manual calibration at any time by just right clicking in the menu system and selecting ‘Recalibrate Now’. Alternatively, the PerfPro software will automatically trigger a calibration at the 9-minute marker. Calibration simply involves spinning up to 22-23MPH and letting it coast down to to 11MPH. Now, you can see that they still have a bit of work to do on cleaning up some of the CompuTrainer verbiage (which shows and is 25MPH). Upon doing the coast-down, it’ll give you the calibration number at the very bottom: You’ll adjust the power/wattage settings by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard. With that, everything else is as normal in PerfPro. If you’ve loaded a given workout in, then it’ll automatically change the power and resistance for you based on the workout or course that you’ve loaded.
