Amy Sugar Director of Instructional Design & Technology Amy Sugar is the Director of Instructional Design and Technology at Rollins College and leads a team of instructional technologists who partner with faculty to integrate technology into their curriculum, assist with course design, and facilitate professional development. Amy has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology/Instructional Design and 10 years of experience working as an instructional designer/technologist in higher education. Prior to working at Rollins, Amy was an instructional designer in the University of Central Florida's (UCF) Center for Distributed Learning where she assisted faculty with the design, development, and delivery of fully online and blended courses. She also has experience teaching elementary music, earned National Board Certification, and designed and delivered professional development training, and participated on curriculum writing teams for Orange County Public Schools. Her teaching and learning research interests include Universal Design for Learning, mobile learning, and Open Educational Resources.
The instructional technologist is the subject matter expert in creating online courses and competencies from content provided by learning architects, recommending technology options both inside and outside the LMS to support the effective delivery of this content, as well as the objectives of the learning experience design. Scott Bokash Instructional Technologist Scott enjoys collaborating with faculty to design significant learning experiences and finding innovative ways to integrate technology to enhance effective instruction. Throughout his 15 years as an educator, he has also specialized in engagement strategies and faculty development. Whats one of the first questions someone asks you upon meeting you for the first timewhat do you do? When I tell people that I’m an Instructional Technologist, I often get this look of bewilderment with their eyebrows raised and the next question I get is, what’s that? I think the most important part of my title is actually the instructional part. Technology, of course, is part of my job, but the instructional part is what makes it all worth while for me.
